A year ago, I never would have imagined that I would want to write so much about food, much less be planning to attend a food & wine conference.  Let’s face it; the only conferences I’d ever been to were education based and the most riveting topics dealt with new classroom management techniques and improved student engagement/achievement. I realize that I majored in English and that I chose a career in education, but at this point in my life, spending my free time listening to “experts” preach a new method of teaching or promoting a new textbook, is not fun.  In fact, I’ve often wondered if there was something wrong with me, because unlike my counterparts and colleagues, I do not eat, breath, think, and live for teaching. 

No, at this point in my life, I embrace what I love, and what I love is cooking, eating, drinking, travelling, and writing about ALL of it.  And to now, be able to attend my first Food Wine Conference…I CAN’T WAIT!
