When given the opportunity to play with a familiar ingredient or recipe and turn it into something completely different, I get super excited. I’ve always loved taking the traditional, the familiar, and creating something new.
The Twin Dragon Asian Wrapper Blogger Challenge required just that…creative, innovative, and adventurous recipes using their Twin Dragon Wonton, Egg Roll, and Gyoza Wrappers.
For the egg roll wrappers, my brain always goes to new and different savory egg roll fillings, and I made some phenomenal (pork, apple & bok choy) egg rolls during the blogger challenge. However, my husband and kids love dessert, so I knew that I HAD to create something for them.
Since I’m always finding new ways to turn traditional meals upside down, I decided to do the same with the egg roll wrappers. I went through every conceivable dessert stuffing–apple pie, guava & cream cheese, cherry pie filling, bananas, cream cheese. But nothing wowed me. Until I stuffed an egg roll wrapper with S’more fixins. That’s when the whole egg roll game changed.
Ingredients
- 6 JSL Twin Dragon Egg Roll Wrappers
- 12 miniature chocolate bars or 2 regular chocolate bars broken into 12 pieces
- 12 jumbo marshmallows
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a traditional roll, place 2 chocolate pieces at the bottom corner of the egg roll wrapper.
- Place 2 marshmallows on top. Then, fold the bottom corner up and over the marshmallows.
- Fold in both side corners and roll up the wrapper.
- Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees in a saucepan.
- Fry egg rolls until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before cutting open and serving.
