About us…

First and foremost, Amy & Jeremy are parents to 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 3 dairy goats.  After that, they’re competitive cooks, cyclists, recipe writers, craft beer enthusiasts, photographers, and world travelers. Amy’s been cooking most of her life, learning to cook when she was 8 years old in 4-H. Jeremy, on the other hand, didn’t join in the fun until he met Amy in 2009. Since then, he’s become a veteran on the competitive cooking scene.

National Pie Championship Win 2013In 2007, after seeing the National Pie Championships on Food Network, Amy entered her first pie championship. “I thought it would be a breeze.  I was awful…No, I sucked! The fact that I’d never actually made a pie crust didn’t help.” She didn’t give up and by the next year, she won two categories–cream cheese and custard–all while huge and pregnant. Amy continued with the American Pie Council for the next several years, and then, in 2013, after only winning one category–citrus–she won the National Championship with my “Sittin on a Sandbar Key Lime Pie.”Amy Freeze

Amy’s 2013 championship earned her her first Golden Ticket to World Food Championships in Las Vegas. Once there, “I felt completely out classed. Everyone was in a chef’s coat; everyone was a professional or so I thought; everyone was waaaayyy out of my league.” However, with Jeremy as her sous chef, she made the top 10 and earned her way back to the 2014 World Food Championships and again to the 2015 World Food Championships.

Jeremy’s love of cycling and craft beer is still relatively new. Having been quite unhealthy and considerably overweight a few short years ago, Jeremy began competing in triathlons in 2009 and has now progressed to duathlons, 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and full marathons.  While running is no longer his fitness goal, cycling is a mainstay and many weekends are spent cycling on Central Florida trails.

In the few years that they’ve been together, Amy & Jeremy have traveled throughout the Caribbean, Ireland, and the US, bicycled the Outer Banks of North Carolina, visited more breweries, distilleries, and wineries than should probably be allowed, and never looked back.

  1. Amy, could you please tell me what the internal temperature of your Sittin’ On A Sandbar Key Lime Pie is when it is time to remove it from the oven? Send your reply to my e-mail address if you would. Thank you, Caryn Wiggins in Columbus, IN

    1. Unfortunately, I’ve never taken an internal temp in this pie. I judge it strictly by touch. The outer edge will not be browned and the center will look firm but will still jiggle a bit.
